Tom Telesco Previews Bolts' 2021 Offseason

Though the 2021 Scouting Combine isn't taking place in Indianapolis as we normally know it, Chargers General Manager Tom Telesco held his annual presser in a virtual format that's becoming more normal as we move through this pandemic.

But as for change? Well, it can be a good thing according to Telesco who discussed how the lack of a typical combine this year has affected this part of the offseason.

"You just need to find the advantages," Telesco said. "We did our scouting meetings a different way this year.

Chargers general manager Tom Telesco had what would have been his NFL Combine press conference, but because they canceled the event in Indianapolis, he had it virtually. Telesco spoke on numerous topics, from what he has noticed working with new head coach Brandon Staley to the state of the team.

This has been a topic for the second offseason in a row. Henry was franchised tagged last season. He was able to make 60 catches for 613 yards and scored four touchdowns while playing in 14 games.

Los Angeles Chargers GM suggests that a Mike Williams trade could be in the cards

Indeed, Mike Williams has played at a high level when he’s been healthy. He recorded 49 receptions for 1,001 yards while leading the NFL by averaging 20.4 yards per catch back in 2019. Williams, 26, fell back down to earth this past season — registering 48 receptions for 756 yards.

The larger issue for the Los Angeles Chargers is Williams’ $15.68 million cap hit for the 2021 season after the team picked up the fifth-year option on the receiver’s rookie deal.
